There are certain core values that should bring us together as Americans.
One of them is standing together against hate, racism, bigotry, and violence that have long haunted and plagued our nation.
Everyone has a role to play.
Mont Saint-Michel, France 🇫🇷
Situated on a rocky islet off Normandy's coast, Mont Saint-Michel boasts a remarkable history spanning over a millennium. Its story begins in the 8th century when Bishop Aubert of Avranches claimed divine inspiration to construct a hermitage on the site. This hermitage evolved into a grand abbey, drawing pilgrims and scholars during the Middle Ages, with a village forming at its base.
The most intriguing aspect of Mont Saint-Michel is its tidal surroundings. The island is surrounded by the largest tides in Europe, with water levels varying dramatically between high and low tides. The most extreme range being 14 meters (45 feet)! This natural phenomenon has made access to the island challenging, leading to the construction of a causeway. The tides also contributed to its defense, turning it into an impregnable fortress during the Hundred Years' War.
Additionally, Mont-Saint-Michel is known for its salt lamb, a local delicacy. These sheep graze on the surrounding salt marshes, giving their meat a unique flavor. Today, this UNESCO World Heritage site continues to captivate visitors with its history, architecture, and the wonder of the tides.

The Museo Internacional del Barroco, designed by Toyo Ito & Associates, features a stunning white exterior and an interior courtyard filled with water, creating a beautiful frame. The museum houses various examples of Baroque art, including paintings, sculptures, fashion, architecture, music, and theater. The museum's walls are made of fluted white concrete with a bush-hammered finish, and a crescent-shaped pond wraps around the structure, intended to create a visual connection with the park. A bridge connects the museum to a large plaza with pock-marked benches, which serve as a drop-off point for passengers and a viewing spot for nighttime projections across the building's facade.

“I lived in the Fremont & Nevada factories for three years. I was running around like a manic trying to fix the production line. I slept on the floor so the teams didn’t think I lived in an ivory tower.”
