Welcome to clean, prosperous, friendly Zwolle, Netherlands, where cyclists outnumber drivers, nobody needs to wear a helmet, there are no dubious campaigns against bus stop bypasses, and both young and old enjoy the freedom of safe, segregated cycling.
This could be your city.
Each and every fresh snow reveals how much we’ve over-designed our streets and roads for cars, making them faster and more dangerous, and how much space we could reclaim for people and public life.

Hi @FinlayMcF
Someone did come along to Kings stables road, but only trimmed the low branches of the bushes growing out of the listed wall and railings. Is there anyone at the council who is responsible for the maintenance of Kings Stables Road?
@FinlayMcF Hi Finlay
I wonder if you can help with the items below. These barriers have been abandoned on the corner of Lothian Road and Kings Stables for a number of weeks. There is also a serious amount of buddleia growing out of the stonework which is causing damage.
@FinlayMcF Thanks for the update, which department covers this sort of thing? These bushes were cut 2 years ago, but nothing was done to poison them or repair the damage. I realise maintenance budgets might be stretched, but a more involved repair would save much more damage in the long run
@FinlayMcF Hi Finlay
The highways team fixed the street stuff the next day, however the Buddleia growing out of the stonework is still thriving. Is there any update on this?
