"Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers now receive priority access [to @antigravity], featuring our highest, most generous rate limits with quotas that refresh every five hours." https://t.co/9KalDQjZz0 < we've also updated free users to a weekly based rate limit which I like
> created the Linux kernel at 21
> built Git because no existing tool was good enough
> accidentally became the backbone of servers, Android, cloud, supercomputers
> never chased fame, money, titles or hype
> stayed private, consistent, and brutally honest for decades
> still reviews code, still improves Linux, still avoids drama
Is Linus Torvalds the most underappreciated legend of the tech industry?
I just spent 12 hours stress-testing Gemini Pro 3.0.
The results were startling.
The barrier between "technical" and "non-technical" is gone.
I didn't write code. I didn't hire a dev. I didn't open n8n.
I just used plain English.
So let's look at what happened...
The Clean Up:
I pasted a description of a broken lead-routing process.
Gemini spotted the bottleneck.
It redesigned the logic flow.
It wrote the SOPs for my team.
The Analysis:
I uploaded raw, messy sales transcripts.
I asked for patterns.
It found a pricing objection I had missed for months.
That one insight is worth five figures.
The Build:
I requested a client portal architecture.
It gave me the database schema.
It mapped the user journey.
It defined the error handling.
Most people use this tech to write emails.
That is a waste of horsepower.
It’s not a chatbot, it’s a 24/7 operator.
But it only works if you know how to speak to it.
I documented everything I did in those 12 hours.
I call it the Gemini Prompting Playbook.
Inside:
- 40+ Operator-grade prompts
- My exact SOP frameworks
- Templates to turn data into decisions
I’m giving it away for free.

I’ll DM you the link.

Here is Gemini CLI’s October 27th weekly update for v0.12.0
- 🎉 New Partner Extensions:
- 🤗 Hugging Face extension: Access the Hugging Face hub.
gemini extensions install https://t.co/7We92TWRBm
- https://t.co/Ho3DgoiNEO extension: Analyze your sprints, update your task boards, etc.
gemini extensions install https://t.co/cc468Z491N
- Data Commons extension: Query public datasets or ground responses on data from Data Commons.
gemini extensions install https://t.co/pL9aF8XQka
- Model Selection: Choose the Gemini model for your session with /model. (abhipatel12)
- Model Routing: Gemini CLI will now intelligently pick the best model for the task. Simple queries will be sent to Flash while complex analytical or creative tasks will still use the power of Pro. This ensures your quota will last for a longer period of time. You can always opt-out of this via /model. (abhipatel12)
- Discussion: https://t.co/7JVOvvffdV
- Codebase Investigator Subagent: We now have a new built-in subagent that will explore your workspace and resolve relevant information to improve overall performance. (abhipatel12 and silviojr)
- Enable, disable, or limit turns in /settings, plus advanced configs in settings.json (silviojr)
- Explore Extension: Users can now open the extensions page in their default browser directly from the CLI using the /extensions explore command. (JayadityaGit)
- Configurable Compression: Users can modify the compression threshold in /settings. The default has been made more proactive (scidomino).
- API Key Authentication: Users can now securely enter and store their Gemini API key via a new dialog, eliminating the need for environment variables and repeated entry. (galz10)
- Sequential Approval: Users can now approve multiple tool calls sequentially during execution. (joshualitt)

🧵
google’s open source & research output basically built the modern ai + web stack:
- chromium → most browsers
- android → 3b+ phones
- tensorflow, jax, tpu papers → shaped ml infrastructure
- transformer paper → changed the world
- mapreduce, borg, spanner, protobufs, kubernetes → cloud & infra as we know it
meanwhile openai, despite the open in the name, is philosophically closed.
the founders of google have left so much legacy for good in the world. that has to be lauded. can’t imagine two other people who have had such an enormous impact on modern life.
