weird thing about both tools getting computer use and phone control is the unit of work changed. used to be a function or a file. now its a whole task you hand off and forget about. we stopped measuring in lines and started measuring in errands

codex finished the task and left a comment that just said done. no notes. cold

long enough in to admit half my gain from claude code and codex isnt the ai being brilliant. its that i stopped context switching to stack overflow every ten minutes. the tool kept me in my own editor and that alone changed more than any feature did

shipped a feature today that was basically me, claude code, and codex passing the same branch back and forth. claude code for the messy reasoning, codex for the cleanup passes. felt less like coding and more like running a tiny team that never argues with me
