@WilliamWhoDW But, most of all, give it to a new, fresh and firebrand production team, one that pushes boundaries but avoids the shark-jumping “hoots” of in-jokes and self-service. The show’s done it before and it has to do so again.

@WilliamWhoDW This situation implied that RTD’s scripts are beyond criticism. It, presumably, neuters any sttempt by script editors/producers to reign in excesses. It resulted in clunky, exposition heavy material which struggled to land, given how it was weighted down with politicising.

@WilliamWhoDW The BBC needs to decide what Doctor Who is meant to be: in my view, a fun adventure with minimal exposition: thrills & chills aplenty but accessible by the wider audience, keep the diversity but without sledgehammer messaging. The sophisticated audience will get it.

@WilliamWhoDW Over the years, as a writer & gay man, I’ve loved much of what he’s done, especially by giving “us” airtime and legitimacy BUT what we have now is a God who thinks he is all knowing. He’s given us the Who which he thinks we need: yes, it had its moments but too few.

@TNThorne1970 Jo Martin is the a Doctor from another universe, possibly with the Cushing Doctor as the second… maybe third… incarnation. During 13’s tenure the universes intertwined, rupturing causality, tge ripples goibg as far back in “this” universe’s Doctor’s timeline to the 4th Doctor

@WilliamWhoDW @UKLabour has its conference soon and, if the polls are right, they’ll be the ones in government in a year’s time, so if the @BBC is as even handed as they claim, there’ll be promotion of @bbcdoctorwho there too as the show will be a flagship brand under their administration too.
