A few years ago I woke up one morning to a DM from Azpilicueta, unprompted, I had never messaged him before. He was just thanking me for the support over the years. Then as the pandemic hit, he heard it was bad in the US and checked in on me a handful of times. And when I met him last summer he took extra time to just have a regular chat, ask about my son & family, it was incredible how kind & down to earth he was. They often say “don’t meet your idols” but if any kid out there has idolized him, meet him, he won’t disappoint.
