@Supersonic_Red@SetantaADV Wow!
A question then:
How do they fare using a spoofed radar/thermal signature in Wild Weasel applications?
From this bubblehead's perspective, Wild Weasel has to be the craziest duty in the Service!
Thank ya!
She is convinced that she's the same size as Goose. 🤣🤣
And she's not even ours. We bought her for my BiL after he lost his. But now that he lost his wife, he won't leave the pup by herself, so he drops her off like a kid at school every day.
They all rule the roost, don't they?
Regarding the wonderful X trend of Europeans in the US for FIFA talking about their impressions of America:
When I was the Director of the NAS Oceana Air Show from 2003 to 2022, one of my most important personal goals was to ensure that every visitor left the show with an appreciation for their Navy and a message tied to each year’s theme.
The theme was important so I spent a lot of creative energy incorporating it into the show and driving it home via a 8 to 10 minute vignette right before the Blues (max crowd).
Whether it was Navy Wounded Warriors, the bicentennial of the American flag, or breast cancer awareness, I wanted all 300,000 visitors over 3 days to learn something and take that message with them.
Example: We themed the show about Vietnam Vets once. The vignette entailed a motorcade holding a Vietnam Vet from each of the five services riding in classic cars festooned with American flags led by 50 motorcycles across the entire crowd line and back to show center.
There, they took the stage and were met by active duty E-1s from their service who handed them a folded flag and an air show coin then rendered a salute. Not a dry eye in the house.
After that display, my wife and I were walking around and happened upon an old Vet in a wheelchair wearing the classic Vietnam Vet ball cap.
Laurie asked him “Are you having a good day?”
He said “I’m having the best day ever.”
That one comment made the entire effort worth it.
And all the guests left the show with a favorable impression of NAS Oceana, the Navy, and our military.
I’m so heartened to see so many Europeans experiencing the “real America” that we all love. Not the big cities, but the heartland, where real patriotic Americans live and work. People who are kind, thoughtful, and caring. People who love their country.
Those Europeans are taking something home with them that a marketing company can’t provide. A real experience that puts the lie to the media (here and there) that hates America and Americans. And they’re sharing it with their fellow countrymen by the millions.
Much like the Air Show messaging, it may not be a huge life changer but it does have an effect in their spirit. Multiply that by millions and it matters.
Greatly.
Wow, serious gust there.
Hate you lost a walnut! They're beautiful, and they pull the critters in so you can watch. 😀
I know you as a pilot recognize evil weather inbound and know what to do, but so many people - even down here where they know better - ignore it all and are just shocked when the hammer comes down.
We've already had one tornado 3-4 miles away this season and a NASTY microburst that ripped stuff up over about a square mile.
Some tl cleanser and Kitties update.
They follow me like a herd of little yard goblins everywhere I go now..
These little kittens born from a feral wild mother are my cats I reckon now......🙄🙄😏😏😄
