Pakistan Women got off to a solid start against India, showing real intent early on. But chasing this massive total feels like too big an ask from our batting lineup right now.
India has put up way too many runs on the board. If the target was around 130-140, Pakistan would’ve had a genuine chance to pull off an upset. The way our batters are playing, there’s still a glimmer of hope if we keep wickets in hand and build partnerships.
But let’s be honest — the required rate is climbing fast and the pressure is mounting. One or two quick wickets now and it’s game over for Pakistan. Our middle order will be tested under extreme pressure.
Still backing the girls to fight till the last ball. A miracle chase isn’t impossible in T20 cricket, but we need something special from here. Come on Pakistan! 🇵🇰 #PAKWvINDW #T20WorldCup #WomenInBlue #BackTheGirls
Cooper Connolly’s 149 helps Australia avoid clean sweep against Bangladesh.
Australia beat Bangladesh by 1 wicket in the 3rd ODI in Dhaka with 3 balls to spare. Chasing 275 for victory, the visitors were under pressure throughout as Bangladesh kept striking at regular intervals.
Connolly played a brilliant innings of 149 off 134 balls, his maiden ODI hundred. The 22-year-old anchored the chase despite Australia losing wickets regularly from the other end. He hit 13 fours and 6 sixes and batted through cramps in the Dhaka heat to keep Australia in the contest.
Bangladesh posted 274/5 with the bat, with Towhid Hridoy 83, Litton Das 58 not out and Mosaddek Hossain 56 not out leading the recovery. Shoriful Islam then produced a fiery spell of 6 for 48, his maiden five-wicket haul in ODIs and career-best figures, as Australia kept losing regular wickets in the chase.
Connolly held firm and took Australia close, but fell to Mustafizur Rahman in the 49th over with the score on 271 for 9. Adam Zampa held his nerve in the final over and drove Taskin through the covers to complete a tense win and deny Bangladesh a series sweep.
What a knock from Connolly when Australia needed it most 👏 #BANvAUS

PCB CHAIRMAN MOHSIN NAQVI IN MEDIA INTERACTION...!!!! 🗣️
- A revamped central contract system will be introduced with separate categories for Test, ODI, T20I & Emerging players.
- Domestic participation, fitness, and performance will be mandatory to earn a central contract.
- Cricket experts will make decisions regarding team selection and the appointment of captains.
Aqib Javed said, "There are still 1.5 years left until the World Cup, but people forget that. In the last World Cup, Sri Lanka and the West Indies had to go through the qualifying round. It’s important to remain in the top six through your bilateral performances because if you slip, another team can play well and overtake you. Bilateral series determine where you stand.
If, 1.5 years in advance, we start thinking about preparing to play in South Africa, then as this season ends and Sri Lanka arrives in October, that’s when it begins to make sense. By then, you should be in a position where you don’t have to fear dropping out of the top six. From October onward, the team should focus on that kind of preparation."

I would be hard-pressed to find a batter more elegant or a cricketer more gracious than Kane Williamson. He played the game with a rare blend of class, humility and dignity, earning admiration far beyond the runs he scored. Cricket will be poorer without him, but as they say, all good things must come to an end. And so does the career of one of the game’s true gentlemen. Thank you, Kane
