Birmingham-based Muslim activist Shakeel Afsar has criticised what he described as "hypocrisy" by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood after they failed to block notorious Qur’an desecrator Valentina Gomez from entering the UK.

Prominent Muslim figures have previously been banned from entering the UK without hesitation for mild criticism of Israel or for defending Islamic principles.
