You have to book a flight to China now, please visit some of its cities, and NOT Hong Kong or even Shenzhen

No visit ACTUAL China, go to Shanghai, Hangzhou, Chongqing, Chengdu, Beijing, Xi'an

Ask Chinese people on here before you visit if you can visit their offices, they'll take you out for dinner and show their immense hospitality

March Recap: Progress slowed a bit since I had to step away for health reasons, but we still pulled in $94K placing YTD revenue at $210k.

We’re moving forward on acquiring a competitor that could unlock access to 20M+ of our target users. If we nail partnerships and play it right, there’s a path to $10M+ (albeit at lower margins). a lot of work and luck is needed tho.

Q2 will likely remain steady as we finalize the deal

I’m more convinced than ever that bootstrapping is the only choice for consumer "startups" (id argue most are really just indie). We keep this running with just a few hours a week. Pre-seed used to buy you engineering leverage / buy out your time. But with Claude code & Windsurf that is ambient now. Curious to see how VC will adapt to present value

SF is so bullish abt the future but cynical about the ppl building it, the worst offenders are new grads/interns. Every time a startup comes up I feel like I always hear something along the lines of “yeah i’ve heard of [x unicorn], they’re not cooking though… right?”

Ppl are so prescriptive to the point I have to assume they’re justifying their job or why they aren’t founding / zuckerberg. It’s lowkey the worst part of SF culture right now

Ah, that changes things. wonder if there are any performance losses not using stripe subscriptions (less data for disputes, higher rate of off session payments being declined, etc.) Is autumn a layer above stripe subscriptions or payments? Could be interesting if you could provide the control to build subscriptions above payments at your current or similar pricing. I don’t see 0.7% as the market’s long term equilibrium, it feels more like a function of vendor lock-in and inelastic demand within the Stripe ecosystem for now
