The kindest thing literature does is remind you that your peculiar little feelings have always existed. Someone, in some century, was equally confused by love, bored by society, tired of performing, and hungry for meaning.
nothing humbles you more than realizing how many things you once prayed for are now a part of your normal life, and you barely even notice them anymore.
turns out, reading voraciously, moving your body, loving people without keeping score, protecting your solitude, chasing nothing but your own growth, and occasionally staying out too late with people who make you laugh until it hurts is not a bad way to build a life.
but well, maybe there'll be some days when we are feeling blue and we need a good cry and we suddenly sob over a bowl of noodles, and that's okay. humans do that and that's okay.
may everybody gain a sense of empathy that allows them to be more considerate of people in situations that they are privileged enough to never experience, a great way to start is by reading books
