By definition it's an indie game, it had AAA levels of funding, though it had no publisher so it's an indie game. The current classification has nothing to do with budget, only publisher. Even something with a budget like BG3 (around $100M budget) is still technically an indie game because they weren't funded by a large publisher. You're confused.
