Western vtubing had a whole of lot nothing to say when Black vtubers were struggling to get accurate skin tones and hair, yet they're quick to defend when a pale model has dreads, or when someone is in low-key blackface.

An original character that is a BI/POC is different than an original character that is a persona you are puppeting on the internet.

There are reasons there are black VTubers who have white models. The first being accessibility, prior to many of the customizable models we have today, many pre-mades only came in mayonnaise. Many were forced to design their sona around that. Not only that, but many artists are still afraid to work with pigmented skin tones boxing them out even further. Lastly as we've seen now racism is still unfortunately alive and thriving. As a white person I do not, and will not ever experience the hatred and oppression that stems from a history of racism. What I do know is pretending to be black and putting on a show feels a lot like history repeating itself.
