ヨーロッパ宇宙機関のESAが実施する今年の洞窟訓練には、JAXAから米田飛行士が参加しています。
洞窟内の探査にはロープワークが不可欠なので、事前にしっかりと訓練を受けてから洞窟に入ります。

私も2019年に参加して、チームワークや状況認識・決断力など、さまざまな学びを得ましたが、なかでも一番大きかったなと思うのは、自分の中の恐怖心をいかに制御するかというメンタル面での学びだったと思います。

道具を信頼して、それを正しく使う手順を徹底することで、恐怖心に立ち向かいました。

米田さんはどんなことを学んでくるのか、洞窟からの帰還が楽しみです。

諏訪さんが訓練中の水再生システム。
エアコンで空気中から除湿された水分や宇宙飛行士の尿を集めて飲料水に戻す優れたシステムですが、配管の繋ぎ換えやタンクの交換など、ほぼ毎日何かしらの作業が発生します。
万が一に備えた訓練からこういった日常的なタスクの訓練まで、着実に打ち上げに向かって進んでいますね😃

昨晩ヒューストンで国際宇宙ステーション第73次+74次前半長期滞在クルーの帰還セレモニーがありました。
多くの関係者が集まり、軌道上で一緒に過ごした11人のクルーも勢揃いし、素晴らしい再会の場となりました。
皆さんに改めて感謝すると共に、これで今回のミッションにひと区切りがついた気がしました。
達成感と一抹の寂しさを感じます。

今日は夜勤のフライトディレクタシフトに入りました。

きぼうでは、先日小型衛星を放出したあとの装置をエアロックから船内に回収し、ジャック・ハサウェイ飛行士がスライドテーブルから取り外してくれました。
作業場のセットアップの仕方や、ひとつひとつの手順を丁寧にこなしていく姿に、私自身も見習うべきところが多かったです。

明日の夜勤シフトでは、同じスライドテーブルに米国民間企業の衛星放出機構が取り付けられる予定です。

独自のロボットアームとエアロックを持つ、きぼうならではの機能が沢山の方々に利用されています！
