@daren_collins Fun fact - the in ancient Israel, the marriage ceremony was to be called by the father, even though the son and future daughter in-law knew they were to be married, the tradition to call the marriage was the sole descretion of the father, that is what is being referenced here.
@JohnHelick@RyanMcbeth And regarding the title page of the BofM, you don’t need to keep convincing me of the inconsistencies in Mormon theology. If Christ is Eternal, how could God have ever been a man who advanced through spiritual development to become a god?
@JohnHelick@RyanMcbeth I’ve read both - and much of the BofM, admittedly it was two decades ago - but your continued assertion regarding Genesis seem to convey that the temptation of satan should be perpetuated because man fell for it once already, and that being like god is the same as being a god.
@JohnHelick@RyanMcbeth So the idea that you will one day be a god, as taught in the Mormon religion, does not strike you as the very same temptation that Eve received from satan? And by extension, is God not eternal if he was once a man? Any other objections to the observations I made?
@MamaCAllen@famousamosquito Yet you as a Mormon must get to the father through Jesus and Yourself (your works), so you don’t seem to understand the concept
@DrInsensitive@BasedMikeLee I’m sure there are plenty of well mannered people in all sorts of different organizations, it doesn’t just give them claim to any title they please. Their doctrines are counter to the teachings of Christ, just because they are super duper nice doesn’t change that.
