We continued our engagement with members of the City Boy Movement, Renewed Hope Youth Engagement (RHYE), and other young stakeholders in Gaya LGA, Kano State.

Members converged from various rural communities across the Local Government Area, bringing together stakeholders, young people, and persons with disabilities, united in purpose and in support of the movement.

The engagement focused on advancing our membership registration drive, data collection efforts, and strengthening our grassroots structures for the work ahead.

The grassroots remains the bedrock of our strength. Together, we will continue to build, connect, and expand our structure across every state.

The message is clear and well received: unwavering commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and Vice President Kashim Shettima—and continuity in 2027.

CITY BOY MOVEMENT NORTHWEST: STRENGTHENING THE STRUCTURE

The Northwest leadership of the City Boy Movement held a strategic meeting focused on strengthening the movement, improving coordination and deepening grassroots engagement.

The Zonal Coordinator, Hon. Abdulazeez Abubakar Kaka, reaffirmed the commitment to taking the message, policies and achievements of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to the grassroots.

The meeting also focused on strengthening structures across the states, LGAs and wards, improving stakeholder engagement, and building a sustainable movement beyond 2027.

Zamfara: turning the terror tide into a lucrative investment climate.

I listened to former gov. Yari at the just concluded Blueprint Newspapers Impact Series and Awards event, confess that aside Borno state, there is not a state in the country that has suffered the brunt of terrorism as much as Zamfara state. Recent efforts by Operation Fansan Yamma alongside the NAF airstrikes has made Zamfara a hot abode for terrorists, as the operations have been yielding great results, with a lot of the terrorists being annihilated, while a lot of them are running cross-border in droves, fleeing the state. A two day operation in Gumi has seen to the death of 300 terrorists. 13 kidnapped victims were also rescued in Anka, and another 33 at Magazu area of Tsafe local govt. NAF also successfully bombed Dogo-Gide's hideout at Kumbashi village. In recent times, our security forces have stepped up their operations in the Northwest terrorism corridor and the results have been quite impressive. Zamfara state governor has had to commend the security agencies for their courageous execution of the war, decimating terrorist activities in Zamfara state. Ground offensives at Kaura Namoda and Birnin Magaji, along with precision airstrikes at Tumfa village in Shinkafi local govt. have successfully eliminated three gang leaders and led to the recovery of machine guns, ammunitions and motorcycles. Gov. Lawal in his commendation message, reiterated that his govt has a no-negotiation stance with bandits and emphasised that a completely kinetic approach was necessary to defeat terrorism. He applauded the military strikes as quite timely.

With the successes of the onslaught on terror, Zamfara state has just launched a $200 million Lithium Mining and Processing Plant, in a bid to lead Nigeria's mining revolution. Gov. Dauda Lawal at the event, stated his govt's intention of turning Zamfara into a processing hub, and not just an address for the extraction of mineral resources. He stated that minerals such as Lithium are central to the future of renewable energy, electric vehicles and other modern technological products, and therefore there is the need for Zamfara state to key into the entire value chain, and not stop at extraction. The Lithium processing plant is a huge milestone in that direction. With such a development, it is evident that Zamfara is turning the tide of terror and turning it into a climate for investment. The development of the plant proves that the state govt is intent on developing the mining sector, and keying into the entire mining value chain. The state govt's reforms are producing an enabling environment for lawful mining activities, attracting investors, and strengthening partnerships with the Federal Govt. This is to ensure that mining activities in Zamfara contribute meaningfully to economic growth and development of the country. The reforms include: strengthening security collaboration; improving infrastructure; and other policies promoting sustainable development.

These reforms are not centered on mining alone as Zamfara used to be one of Nigeria's largest producers of cotton, hosting no less than 15 ginneries in the state. To revive the cotton industry amongst others, the state govt is partnering with the FG to strengthen security. The state has adequately matched the FG's efforts by creating and empowering Vigilante groups, who have worked hand in hand with the Nigerian army's operation Fansan Yamma. Zamfara state has bought no less than 25 armored personnel carriers including specialised tactical and armored Toyota Buffalo trucks. The state govt also purchased over 600 state of the art drones for surveillance. This has improved the troops tactical mobility, real time intelligence gathering, and the ability to launch robust offensives on bandit enclaves. There is little wonder why recent operations in Zamfara have been timely and precise.

ONSA Tactical Team operatives and Operation HADIN KAI troops of 226 Battalion raided a Boko Haram/ISWAP camp in Kopre Mountain, Hong LGA, Adamawa, in the early hours of 27 August.

Acting on intelligence, the ONSA and OPHK joint force crossed rugged terrain, engaged the enclave in two encounters, neutralized more than 21 fighters, and forced others to flee wounded. ONSA and Operation HADIN KAI then dismantled the camp, destroyed motorcycles, bicycles and fuel stocks, and recovered AK-47 rifles, magazines and ammunition.

The ONSA–OPHK operation is part of ongoing efforts to locate people abducted from Mussa in May and schoolchildren taken from Lassa in June. Military High Command commended the coordination between the two units.

CITY BOY MOVEMENT YOBE STATE INAUGURATION & TOWN HALL MEETING

The Zonal Coordinator, Northwest of the City Boy Movement, Hon. Abdulazeez Abubakar Kaka, attended the inauguration of the Yobe State Chapter of the City Boy Movement and the accompanying Town Hall Meeting held on 27th August 2026.

The event brought together members, stakeholders, and supporters of the Movement, reaffirming its commitment to grassroots mobilisation, unity, and effective engagement in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda across Yobe State.
