Airbnb host left me a 1-star review: "Guest murdered someone in my apartment."

Me: WHAT.

I did not murder anyone.

I messaged her: "I didn't murder anyone. What are you talking about?"

Host: "The police came."

Me: WHAT POLICE?

Host: "They said there was a body."

Me: WHERE?

Host: "The bathtub."

I was there for two nights. There was no body.

Called Airbnb support.

Me: Someone's accusing me of murder.

Support: That's a serious allegation.

Me: I KNOW. IT'S ALSO FALSE.

Support: Did you murder someone?

Me: NO.

Support: Are you sure?

Me: YES I'M SURE.

Support: We'll investigate.

Got a call from a detective.

Detective: Were you staying at 447 Maple Street last week?

Me: Yes, but...

Detective: We found a body.

Me: I DIDN'T PUT IT THERE.

Detective: Can you come to the station?

Me: AM I A SUSPECT?

Detective: We're just talking.

Went to the station. They showed me photos.

Detective: Recognize this person?

Me: No.

Detective: They were found in the bathtub of your rental.

Me: I took showers! There was no body!

Detective: When did you check out?

Me: Sunday at 11 AM.

Detective: Body was found Sunday at 3 PM.

Me: SEE? AFTER I LEFT.

Detective: But you were the last guest.

Me: THAT DOESN'T MEAN I KILLED SOMEONE.

They let me go but I'm "not to leave town."

Me: I LIVE HERE.

Detective: Good.

The Airbnb host updated her review: "Police say guest MIGHT not be murderer. Still not recommended."

Me: MIGHT NOT?

Messaged her: "Change the review."

Host: "I'll change it when they catch the real killer."

Me: I'M THE REAL NOT-KILLER.

Host: "That's what a killer would say."

My Airbnb account got suspended.

Support: "Until the investigation concludes."

Me: I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING.

Support: "We have a zero-tolerance policy for murder."

Me: I HAVE A ZERO-MURDER RECORD.

Support: "We'll reassess when this is resolved."

Turns out the body was a medical skeleton the HOST stored in the bathroom closet.

Someone broke in after I left and staged it in the tub as a prank.

Detective: You're cleared.

Me: THANK YOU.

Detective: The host is being charged with filing a false report and improper storage of human remains.

Me: WAIT SHE HAD REAL HUMAN REMAINS?

Detective: It's complicated.

Airbnb reinstated my account but the review is still there.

Support: "Reviews are permanent."

Me: EVEN WHEN THEY'RE LIES?

Support: "It's her experience."

Me: HER EXPERIENCE WAS STORING SKELETONS.

My profile now has one review: 1 star. "Possible murderer."

No one will rent to me.

I'm staying in hotels now.
