The era of low interest rates is NOT over. And this is so obvious, I didn't know why I needed to write about it.
But because it's so awful, I felt I had to say something (even if no-one reads it).
So I've written a new post for the first time in years:

@dsquareddigest@nrduford Just as an appreciation, I have followed you for a number of years and read your book on fraud, and seriously I'm blown away by how clever you are!
@scaton1 I suppose I'm trying to say any decision where two people need to communicate on it is open to miscommunication.
I agree with you is a different type of error, but still it's just another human error.
@izakaminska Not involved inthe debate, but inflation was largely caused by supply issues and pandemic stimulus, making it transitory, no? I don't think fiscal conditions will encourage long-term demand-driven inflation in the UK; do you think otherwise?
Today is Holocaust Memorial Day.
In 1938, Sir Nicholas Winton brought Jewish children from German-occupied Czechoslovakia to safety in the UK.
Fifty years later, Thatโs Life reunited him with some of those children.
๐งต A New Year's Eve tale:
June 1990
"Hello, could you tell me when the next train to Birmingham is?"
"One moment, ah yes, it's at 1:40."
"Brilliant!"
"People aren't usually this excited about Birmingham."
"I've got a date with Sam, I can't believe it!"
"Have fun young man."

@emollick The personal list is really interesting, but the political list seems to reflect the political priorities of the experts. Eg they think reducing income inequality will have the same impact as promoting sports.
My favorite paper for reflecting on before the New Year asks the key question: how can we be happier?
The world's top happiness scholars ranked the best strategies for individual & societal happiness, here are results listed by feasibility & effectiveness https://t.co/DPTuf2XrZD
