A disturbing case of food safety negligence has surfaced from Pune's Chandannagar area, where a resident found worms inside a Cadbury chocolate purchased from a local shop.

According to reports, the citizen bought the chocolate earlier today, but upon opening it to eat, discovered worms and webbing inside — raising fresh concerns over food quality and safety standards. The incident has left the customer deeply upset, with residents alleging that such negligence by companies, especially during the festive season when consumption is high, puts public health at serious risk.

Two years ago we tried to evict a tenant from my parents’ rented house. He was in his mid-80s, never paid rent on time, and had done unspeakable things to his house help. When we started the eviction, his son became abusive and threatened me and the broker on phone and WhatsApp. We went to the police with proof. They didn’t bat an eye, told us to come back if/when something like in his threats actually happens. We had to bring in influential people just to get the tenant out. In this country, things move only when a politician wants them to. Ordinary people are just puppets in this “democracy.”
