@thesmartmark Regarding putting younger guys over, I agree but that must be done delicately. I'd argue Punk did more for MJF than Jericho has with any of the many guys Jericho has sort of recklessly put over.
@thesmartmark This is obviously all fantasy so there's no real point in going through it. But for the sake of conversation:
If the only thing you're looking at is standalone match quality, I agree there is nothing Punk brings that someone else who comes with less baggage and cost doesn't.
@thesmartmark That said, what he does bring is spectacle, intrigue & star power that comes with eye balls and butts-in-seats. But you have to take everything that comes with that which I agree would probably be net negative long term for AEW.
He's a phenomenal story-teller though, the best.
@Dbacks@SlangsOnSports Well, well. Those are two people, I have a ton of admiration and respect for. I don't know them personally, but they seem like wonderful people also. Thanks for bringing me a smile.
@billburr Nope,it hurts but you beat us. Fair and square. Good clean game. Congratulations are in order to Team USA. It's a shame we can't don't do these more often. Would love to see a best of 7 series.
@Justin_SofOK I was at this show, it very good and a very memorable evening. I knew there hadn't been many good Nitros leading up to it. What I didn't know, was that there would hardly be any in the years that followed.
@arielhelwani@CBCOlympics I've really been enjoying your CBC coverage. It's been so authentic and heartfelt, really great stuff. I'm really hoping Canada pops off one of these days, and you need to drink like a litre of syrup.
@HeyHeyItsConrad@EBischoff@83Weeks One thing I've always wondered about:
What was supposed to happen on Jay Leno the day after the Owen tragedy, between Bret and Nash. Was it going to be a legitimate match? Was it going to lead to something story wise? Or was it just a one off for promotional purposes.
@YankeesRising@MLB Much like John Sterling, he has a unique charm as a broadcaster that is unconventional but with exposure becomes undeniably likeable, welcoming and instantly identifiable as summer. As long as Blue Jays baseball exists, Buck will be remembered. That's a legend to me.
@Ricky_Ro24 Why is it when ownership won't shell out to be loyal to an aging player that's acceptable. But when a prime player leaves for more money when his current team isn't offering market value, he's greedy.
@Bluejaysmemes@ThereGoesRyley I had a lot of optimism going into 2011. Romaro & Morrow seemed like a legit 2-headed monster and Drabek had a lot of hype. Sadly when all was said and done, the only thing I remember well was Bautista proving 2010 wasn't an anomaly. Easily his best season, not talked about much.
