No shade I can tell a lot of y’all parents was teenagers when they had you. But as the child of boomers, and the grandchild of the silent generation… if you weren’t directly putting money in somebody’s hand (which I can say, I did not see a lot of) you was going to the store and showing up at grandma’s house with the groceries/supplies that she or someone else asked you to bring. OR you were contributing to the meal and showing up with a couple pans of what you made. My dad has like 7 brothers and sisters, and his mama had like 12. We’re black Californians by way of Louisiana, and no one ever expected my grandmother to foot the entire bill and cook an entire Thanksgiving meal for that many niggas, please.
Your aunts and uncles were giving your grandma money for thanksgiving btw. They just didn’t broadcast it because that’s common sense. Niggas grown as hell acting like children just wanting to show up and eat.
I actually can’t stand when people reply to my discussion boards asking a follow up question or halfway disagreeing with me. Be so fr, just agree and move on.
Lettie on ADW (1987) came to Hillman as a guest lecturer bc of her crazy life but she DID NOT FINISH COLLEGE at Hillman the first time. They had her there as an older nontraditional student and resident director. The resident director role was to cover her tuition. SO YEAH.....
Nah.
People who have never watched original #ADifferentWorld really SHOULD watch Season 1. It gives the beginning stories of all of the original characters except Freddie & Kim.
People need to understand the Denise connection. She is an important link to the show.
Y’all, Whitley definitely became kinder & more socially conscious as the original show progressed, but she was still a bit elitist and mean in the later seasons, even after her character development. One of the last episodes is about her being mean to Mr. Gaines #ADifferentWorld
"Men are also raped🥺" First of all, yes. Second of all, you've never once advocated for male abuse until you tried to invalidate the abuse a woman went through
If there’s a second season, i would love to see Millie comeback as a CEO of something, and give Whitley holy hell. Whitley treated her like a stepping stool.
