Five weeks. That's how far China's best AI model now sits behind the US frontier. Kimi K3.1 Pro: #4 globally, near-frontier performance, mid-market price, open weights coming. Intelligence is getting cheaper and closer. 🇨🇳🇺🇸 #AI
AI can warn a maintenance team that a machine may fail, but McKinsey argues that the opportunity lies in what the organization does next.
A prediction is useful when it changes how maintenance is planned and carried out.
That requires more than a model.

Suppose a warning arrives days before a possible breakdown. The repair still waits because the schedule has not changed or the required part is unavailable. The model has supplied information that the process cannot yet use.
Who can act on that warning while there is still time?
McKinsey estimates potential cost reductions and additional uptime across asset-heavy industries. Its analysis emphasizes redesigning the maintenance process so that insights can influence decisions and lead to timely interventions.
I would put maintenance teams at the center of that redesign, giving them access to information while they are planning work and enough authority to adjust priorities.

My view is that the gains will come from redesigning workflows, not merely attaching a chatbot to existing software. Finance leaders should select a few measurable problems, test alongside alternative models and quantify end-to-end value before scaling. https://t.co/aX9pcSTv3r
Gen Office has been created through AI, and made it open source, i see the Software Engineering economy is changing. More and more of such open source will come people will start using for two reason one. Low cost, and can be attached with any AI. https://t.co/y2au7b0prn

recent software experiment may offer an early glimpse of a much larger industry shift. In October 2026, developer Brandon Thomas drew attention for releasing open-source, Rust-based applications designed to reproduce many workflows of Adobe tools https://t.co/gPgeq1khaT
