Here are the official numbers:

Casey's national audit (2025): 700 recorded group-based CSE offences in 2023.

Police chiefs (NPCC): Pakistani suspects 13.7% of group gangs, white suspects 63%.

Run his claim. 700 a year, 13.7% Pakistani, is about 96. Over 25 years, 2,400.

The data is under-reported, so I will be generous and multiply it by 10. That's 24,000. And I will double it again to 48,000. Still a fifth of his number, with every assumption stacked in his favour.

So either the figure is wrong.
Or it is real. And if it is real, it cuts the other way too.

White suspects are 63% of group gangs, four and a half times the Pakistani share. On his own number that is more than a million white-gang victims. Lowe says nothing about.

And Casey records 500,000 children sexually abused every year in total. The largest group of perpetrators are white men.

Either way the headline collapses on its own arithmetic.

And more importantly, he appears to be weaponising victims and survivors for political gain.

Pathetic.

True, Muslims aren’t a race. But let’s not pretend words live in a vacuum. When people throw around blanket hostility toward Muslims, it plays out in the real world as discrimination against people – ordinary families, kids in schools, workers just trying to live their lives. That is racism in effect, even if it hides behind clever wordplay.

Yes, Islam (like Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, or any major tradition) has both spiritual and political dimensions. Criticism of ideas is fair game. But when that ‘criticism’ bleeds into demonising a whole community, that’s not brave free speech – that’s just prejudice dressed up in a suit.

And as for ‘Islamophobia being made up’ – well, so is every word. The point is it names a very real pattern: targeting Muslims for who they are, not just what they believe.

Free society? Absolutely. Debate anything. But freedom cuts both ways: you get to criticise, others get to call out bigotry when they see it.
