WhatsApp clearly stated that users cannot search the username partially. Only if someone has the full name then they can send a message.

Also, if people enable the username key feature, it becomes even more secure as one must know both the username and key to send messages.

This will also hide the user's mobile number, so the number of spam calls and messages will be reduced. Definitely it will help consumers to improve the privacy not worse
