@RobLooseCannon And the Masons, though not a church, got thrown in. From conversations I've had, it seems they were singled out by the hierarchy here for particular vilification, hence the strong views still being expressed.
@RobLooseCannon Spot on for the Masons, Rob. A society of all creeds, not a church. When I came here in 1989, anti-protestant bigotry was very strong (ours was still being called a mixed marriage), typified by the careless use of the words Prod and Protestant to mean one single group of people.
@DavidAlfrey109@mosler302@Theblackfemini3@lisareality1 Sometimes I'd say that I needed this to meet my monthly quota or I'd be in trouble with my boss. However, my children tell me that you can be recorded and the dreaded AI can sample your voice to make fake calls, so I just hang up. A pity, as it could be fun at times.
@DavidAlfrey109@mosler302@Theblackfemini3@lisareality1 I used to ask if the caller had enough life insurance or pension cover and if they could give me their credit card and bank details, I would do a financial assessment for them on the spot. Responses included "You are not listening to me" or "No, I am calling you".
@MumblinDeafRo For me, writing those things down is like caring for the fallow ground until it's ready again. Mostly, though, I have an atrocious memory and would never remember them ten minutes later, let alone on the return of the tide.
