My take: if the Modi govt is serious about women’s reservation ahead of 2029 GE , simple solution: just amend Article 334 A and go back to the 2010 bill formula that provided one third seats for women from existing 543 seats. Doesn’t need a link with census or delimitation. Can be done tomorrow morning!!🙏

Am I right in interpreting your order as follows:

34 lakh voters, who may be ALL OR MANY OR MAJORITY OR A FEW, but legitimate voters with full adult franchise rights, may potentially be barred from voting in the West Bengal elections, because their “ adjudication” will not be completed???

How is that fair?
Don’t the 34 lakh voters have their fundamental right to vote being stolen from them? This is a mockery of democracy, is it not???
Why was the Election Commission not able to resolve this well ahead in time?
Shouldn’t the West Bengal elections be postponed till the adjudication process is completed?

RIP Indian democracy!

That is what Banks collected in last 3 years just for not maintaining ‘Minimum Account Balance.’

Not from the rich. Not from big borrowers.
From the poorest accounts in the system.
Their crime? They didn’t have enough money.

A farmer misses the minimum balance - Penalty.
A pensioner withdraws money for medicine - Penalty.
A daily wage worker falls short by a few hundred rupees - Penalty.

The poor keep money in banks for safety. Not to be quietly fined for being poor.

Financial inclusion should protect small savings, not punish small balances.

In Parliament today I proposed ending minimum balance penalties so the banking system stops charging people for their poverty.
