🇦🇷 The hate against Messi came out of nowhere, and it has nothing to do with football.
Here's what's actually going on...
Messi lifted the World Cup in December 2022 and the entire planet lost its mind celebrating.
Three and a half years later, a chunk of the internet suddenly decided he's a villain.
Nothing on the pitch changed. Same guy, same career, twenty years of footage anyone can check in under a minute.
What changed is the feed. Villain edits started outperforming legend edits and the algorithm noticed.
A 2018 MIT study tracked 126,000 claims across 3 million X users. False stories spread six times faster than true ones and got retweeted 70% more often. Outrage simply beats accuracy at getting attention.
None of this needs a single big lie either. Illusory truth effect: see a claim enough times and it starts feeling true even when you know it's false, and the effect survives fact checks.
Football is basically the most documented thing on earth. Every match, every angle, every ref decision, all archived. The narrative still won anyway.
If the algorithm can flip public opinion on the most watched athlete alive, it can flip it on anyone with no footage to fall back on.

Do you realise how outrageous this actually is?
Imagine 38-year-old Ronaldinho dominating Russia 2018.
Imagine 38-year-old Xavi controlling every midfield at Russia 2018.
Imagine 38-year-old Iniesta and 38-year-old Robben outplaying the world in Qatar 2022.
Imagine 37-year-old Rooney dragging England through Qatar 2022.
Imagine 37-year-old R9 and 37-year-old Totti ruling Brazil 2014.
Imagine 38-year-old Zidane and 37-year-old Figo owning South Africa 2010.
Every one of those scenarios sounds completely impossible.
Lionel Messi did the real version.
At 39, he entered the 2026 World Cup and went toe-to-toe with Mbappé, Haaland, Yamal, Bellingham and an entire generation raised watching his highlights.
Players 12, 14, even 20 years younger than him.
He scored 8 goals, provided 4 assists and carried Argentina into another World Cup final.
This isn’t longevity anymore.
This is football producing generation after generation of superstars—and none of them being able to make Lionel Messi look ordinary.
The greatest there was.
The greatest there is.
The greatest there ever will be. 🇦🇷🐐🙏
Thank you for everything Lionel Andres Messi Cuccitini 🐐🇦🇷❤️
Forgive me for falling for the bait and responding to him.
1. Who made Sonam Wangchuk messiah of all things students? It was his choice to go on hunger strike. Who made him thekedar for NEET or any student for that matter?
2. Neither Dipke nor Wangchuk have sought time from anyone from government to have a meaningful dialogue, to discuss. All their statements are public ultimatums. Skipping formal channels for a public spectacle is performative, not solution oriented.
3. Your demands are maximalist. Your demands are to make noise, not arrive at an actual solution. They are for media attention, not for a policy dialogue.
4. You built your entire 'movement' by twisting the statement of the CJI - which had nothing to do with the PM. Yet, in your letter you are not naming the CJI. Weaponising a courtroom metaphor about fraud, pretending the government used it as a slur against students, and using it to target the Prime Minister shows the fundamental dishonesty of your narrative.
5. Not once have they offered solutions to paperleaks. Instead they're indulging in drama of 'diaper protest' etc. More theatrics than actual policy reform document.
6. Dipke and Wangchuk continue to weaponise the grief of the families. The demands are put such that they are setting government up for 'not fulfilling the demands' and hence the rejection will further be weaponised to fuel the protests, which, I suspect, will ultimately end up in riots.
7. The letter is framed in such hostile manner only for rhetoric to appear 'we are standing up and speaking truth to the power' drama so that they get applauded for 'being brave', while in reality it is theatrics.
8. Portraying Wangchuk as some kind of saint-like figure while all he has done is being an opportunist to hijack something and ride on the grief and anger of students. How did he shift his goalpost from Ladakh to students? Putting him on a pedestal does not absolve him from the allegations of FCRA violation.
Caste was the defining aspect of ancient India.
But Slavery was never the defining aspect of ancient Greece.
EVERYTHING in ancient India must be reduced to caste. But NOTHING in ancient Greece must be reduced to Slavery.
Eastern civilizations must always be defined by their worst attributes, but western civilization must always be defined by its best ones. Your aberration is your essence, our essence is merely an aberration.
Our civilization must be judged only by its successes, yours must be judged only by its flaws.
If you hate billionaires, go all the way, pussy.
Ditch the iPhone, the laptop, the tablet.
Get off the internet.
No Amazon, no big box stores, no Starbucks.
Grow your own food. Thrift your clothes. Walk everywhere.
And obviously no working for, buying from, or interacting with any company that scales beyond a farmers market.
Enjoy your abundance.
Teenagers are sharing photos of their AP U.S. Government textbooks, and the sheer amount of indoctrination is wildly disturbing.
Apparently, Barack Obama is ideologically a right wing authoritarian.
Hillary Clinton and George W Bush are entirely indistinguishable politically.
Donald Trump is of course virtually the same as Hitler.
@tedcruz is apparently more radically authoritarian than Fidel Castro AND Joseph Stalin..??!!??
@Linda_McMahon — can we expedite some major changes to American public education?
At first, I couldn't fucking believe this was a real article. So I had to look it up... and it's real.
This is some deranged, evil nonsense, man... no amount of ideological spin turns a sexual assault into some noble "assimilation tool". This is just morally bankrupt.
Then they use a linguistic sleight-of-hand to dress up sexual assault as some quirky "cultural misunderstanding"... Fucking disgusting.
Anything "quasi" = not consensual = sexual assault... no such thing as a "kinda raped" category that magically fixes racism. 🤡
- In 2022, a Govt survey in India found out that 82% of Indian women are able to refuse sex to their husbands.
- Recently released webseries Chiraiya claims that 82% Indian women face sexual abuse by their husbands.
- Maybe makers of Chiraiya just assumed that 82% of women can deny sex to their husbands, so it must mean that 82% of husbands are sexually abusing their wives.
- Web series like these are usually aimed at destroying the family structure in India. And I am not surprised that this vahiyaat propapganda against men is getting good reviews by critics.
- Just imagine the impact of these fake facts presented as truth on the minds of teenage girls. They will probably start hating the concept of marriage even before getting old enough to marry.
- Sikhs were shown in bad light in Udta Punjab smoking weed and taking multiple drug substance but they had no problem
- Bollywood keeps showing them in bad light like and making fun of them but they have no problem
- But in Dhurandhar a Sikh showed in a powerful performance, using his mind well , using Guru Gobind Singh's phrase in a very powerful way
But they have problem with the film because the sikh character was k!lling the terrorists whole smoking a cigarette
“I miss the era before 2014, when movies had no propaganda.”
Meanwhile: villain holding a pitchfork symbolising a trishul, and the hero holding a hammer and sickle, literally forming the CPI (Maoist) symbol, a left-wing terrorist organisation now banned in India.
Coolie (1983).
If a software engineer in Bangalore earns an annual package of ₹50 LPA, over the last five years, they would have paid approximately ₹30 lakhs in income tax.
Now, if they lose their job due to sudden layoffs, they receive nothing no freebies, no subsidies until they find another job.
In many developed countries, taxpayers have access to Social Security: if someone loses their job, they receive financial support or unemployment benefits until they are employed again.
India, despite being a large socialist-leaning nation, provides little to nothing for those who pay taxes.
Instead, the government continues distributing free electricity, water, bus travel, or schemes like Ladli Bahen, benefiting those who don’t contribute as much in taxes.
Sad reality of India.
Indian civilization went into doom just because of this suicidal empathy that Elon is talking about. Later, after the oppression, it became Stockholm syndrome. It is still suicidal.
The US will end up like India but only sooner in the next 100 years instead of a 1000. The US, with its creativity and tech boom, is in the age of India 2500 years ago. Marvel universe instead of Mahabharata. Musk instead of Maurya.
The next 50 years may see some more great things come out as the decline starts. Then the eventual invasions and decay as society gets too comfortable to protect itself.
2 years of JEE.
2 attempts at un-aliving myself during it all because life was kicking my ass so bad.
4 years of engineering.
If this was an option, what the fuck was the point of it all then?
Saw an ad where women cricketers were roasting a cricket fan by saying, “Tu aadha fan hai,” because he followed men’s cricket and not women’s.
Don't feel guilty over such condescending "tu-tadaak" ads. It's okay if you don't watch women's cricket. There is no misogyny in that. Even most women don't watch women's cricket.
Paralympics viewership world over is not even 10% of the regular Olympics. That doesn't mean the world is anti-disabled.
There’s too much content and too little time. Watch only what interests you. If someone wants your attention, they should earn it by being interesting, not by shaming you.
