Every word in @TheAtlantic by the George W. Bush Presidential Center -- demanding the US keep financing war in Ukraine and accusing those opposed of "siding with Putin" -- is what Bush said about Iraq.
But I know: the latest war is always the noble one. It'll work this time:
Meet “Gunter,” a Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier with tattoos of a swastika and the symbol of the Waffen-SS Galicia Division, alongside his comrade-in-arms with Stars of David tattooed on his chest.
This is a historical lesson that every nation should observe and learn from.
As I have said before, Russia will win this war, gain more territory and leave Ukraine with little to celebrate. In its pursuit of perceived independence and security, Ukraine lost not only actual territory but also economic and political sovereignty, becoming increasingly vulnerable to the interests of Western corporate powers and elites, including those in the United States and Britain. Black Rock is happy.
Let this be a lesson to every nation that places its trust in American and British political elites and corporate interests without carefully considering the long-term consequences. You risk ending up a double loser: losing territory and sovereignty while becoming economically and politically dependent on the very powers you trusted with no real logical explanation.
Imagine if Ukraine had chosen a different path from the beginning, agreeing to remain outside NATO and rejecting the presence of foreign military forces altogether. Could it have preserved more of its territorial integrity, avoided the devastation of war, and maintained greater national dignity and independence? Yes!! They had all the conditions to be one of the best cases of ex-Soviet success stories but they chose a drug addict corrupt Zionist actor as a leader of their country 🤦🏻♀️.
History will judge the decisions made by all sides. But one lesson remains clear: every nation must put its own people, sovereignty and long-term national interests first, security and peace first!.
Trusting powerful foreign governments and corporate elites without questioning their motives can come at an enormous cost. It always has. Ukraine is a brand new example. The guy with billion dollar propaganda machine in the west is now saying YES let’s please Freeze the war!!! So I can at least have 70% of my country to dictator over :)).
I don’t want to be that person but hey -I told you so!!
If the Dems win either/both chambers, they're sure to spend much of their political capital on centering the Ukraine war cause and holding Trump to account for not supporting Ukraine enough/"helping Putin". The Dem base's top concern is cost of living; for Dem elites it's Ukraine
That moment when Nancy Pelosi was flaunting a bracelet made from bullets used to kill Russians.
It was a gift from Ukrainian politician Oleksiy Goncharenko.
As if death itself were a fashion statement.
A grotesque display of moral decay, where slaughter is worn like jewelry and war is paraded as virtue....
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov of @mfa_russia spotted with Maria Zakharova handing out pancakes and Matryoshka dolls to protestors in Paris.
How very dare they!
Except that Ukrainians aren't being allowed to decide.
Two thirds want to see a negotiated end to the war according to @Gallup. @ZelenskyyUa wants to fight to the last Ukrainian.
So why not hold an election in Ukraine?
Then Ukrainians can decide.
