@deerestprincess@TheWerdup I love Catelyn, but she totally messed up by basically KIDNAPPING a member of the Lannister family with no evidence other than pure faith in Littlefinger.
Even if it had been him, it was a risky and STUPID move to lose him.
@KevinPendragon_ I can still call out the problematic aspects of a wonderful story and the some of the author's inherent misogyny? The books are fantasy, not marketed as dark romance 😹
@MikeladzeAnet@IvyValyria people get into fights over fictional characters everywhere, even tumblr lmao, just scroll past it, there is a LOT of hatred for Rhaegar in this fandom, especially in Latin American spaces, which is exactly why I said my own perception might be biased.
@MikeladzeAnet@IvyValyria also, babe, it’s a book 😭 people are obviously going to get emotionally invested in their favorite characters and argue about them, If you don’t do that, congratulations, I guess, but you’re definitely in the wrong corner of fandom lmao
@MikeladzeAnet@IvyValyria girl, I never said people outside Mexico or Latin America don’t hate cheaters 😭 of course they do, I was talking about my own perception and the cultural context I grew up in. Latin America has a particularly strong cultural stigma around fathers who abandon their children
@MikeladzeAnet@IvyValyria It’s also possible that my own perception is a little biased because, in México, we HATE cheaters, and even more than cheaters, deadbeat dads who abandon their kids lmao. So I guess our perception is inevitably shaped by that (upsi)
@MikeladzeAnet@IvyValyria I understand your point, and I think it’s a reasonable one, also think the point of the post is understandable, though, all of this does seem a bit like a constant ritual of humiliation, but I suppose that's more reflective of the context of being a woman in a medieval setting
@MikeladzeAnet@IvyValyria also, Ned is a MAN, and several of his own misfortunes are at least partly connected to his own actions, Elia, on the other hand, is much more a product of her circumstances and of things other people did to her. In fact, she tries to act as a peacemaker
