TLDR: Why Web3 Gaming Actually Makes Sense (Part 3: Doing It Right)
Let's talk about what works. No hype. No buzzwords. Just real infrastructure that makes sense for game devs.
Web3 gaming done right means one thing:
Everything works in your game engine.
No platform switching.
No extra tools.
Your game needs:
- Asset management
- Player inventories
- Marketplace features
- Social systems
- Trading mechanics
All of this should just... work.
In your development environment. Where you build games. Simple as that.
Here's what we're seeing with games doing it right:
- Devs work in their native language
- Assets move automatically
- Systems scale on their own
- Infrastructure costs drop
- Players keep their stuff
No crypto degree needed.
No blockchain expertise required.
Just tools that work where you already build games.
The big difference? Everything's built for game devs first.
Web3 features are just that - features. Not the whole game.
Next up: The numbers that actually matter...
V3 Testnet Galileo is live.
This marks a major leap forward in 0G’s evolution.
With a 70% performance boost and a more flexible, future-proofed architecture redesign, Galileo represents the most powerful version of 0G to date 🧵↓
V3 Testnet: Galileo is here 🔭
The Newton Testnet saw 2.5M unique wallets, 350M+ txs, & ~530k smart contracts.
Galileo is the most powerful version of 0G to date. Let’s defy gravity 🐼
As the first & largest modular L1 for AI, 0G abstracts away the complexity of AI while maximizing scalability, performance, & decentralization.
But did you know: you can benefit from 0G's modular features even with a partial deployment?
Dive in 🧵↓
0gm! We’re thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of Testnet V3 (Galileo) which incorporates significant architectural and performance improvements!
👉 Testnet V2 (Newton) Deprecation Plan
With the upcoming launch and advantages of V3 (Galileo), Testnet V2 (Newton) will be officially deprecated following the launch of V3. Active development, testing, faucet services, and support will transition exclusively to V3 (Galileo) post-launch. We encourage all users to prepare for this migration.
👉 We’re also deprecating the Storage Standard Network as part of this transition.
After demonstrating that we can sustainably operate two network modes on V2, we are simplifying our network structure for V3 (Galileo) to provide a more streamlined experience for builders with a single Turbo Network. This ensures all users benefit from our most advanced and speed-optimized network configuration. We will continue to monitor community needs and may reconsider a Standard network if strong demand emerges later.
👉 V2 (Newton) Final Snapshot & Shutdown Details
To provide a final state of V2 for archival purposes, we will perform a snapshot of the Testnet V2 (Newton) chain.
This snapshot is scheduled to occur at block number 4084400. (Please note: This block has NOT yet been reached. This announcement serves as advanced notice. The snapshot is planned to occur around the time of the V3 launch)
The current V2 RPC URL will be migrated to V3 (Galileo) after the V2 network shutdown. Until then, it remains connected to V2.
👉 Important: This snapshot is for reference only. V3 (Galileo) will be a completely new chain. No data, tokens, or contract states are migrated from the V2 snapshot to V3.
Please prepare accordingly, and thank you for building with us!
