@2024dion I've had several classmates who were very confused by my love for KC, then happened to visit it for some reason or another, and are shocked by how much it puts Phoenix (the poster child of Sun Belt cities) to shame.
Oh well, at least Phoenix has an airport with flights to KC!
@b_cuse_ The story I wrote for The Reader on market-to-midtown getting removed is what first got me interested in planning. Four years later here I am, now in grad school, and STILL no market-to-midtown, no PBLs of any kind, nothing. Absolutely shameful - what is Ewing doing!!
@electionsjoe Marshall said several stupid things along these lines during the pandemic in 2020 and still won by 13. Fewer things would make me happier than him being involuntarily retired to FL, but I'm still not holding my breath. There were polls that had Bollier getting up to 49 after all.
Adam Hamilton (D) closes out his U.S. senatorial debate vs. Sen. Roger Marshall (R) at the Kansas State Fair with a colorful Wizard of Oz analogy.
"We have a lot people who lost their hearts in Washington D.C."
The signs were there:
Notice that none of these stories are about ideology. They're about work ethic, or being a delinquent, or exercising good moral judgment.
John Fetterman is a great reminder that beyond ideology, it really does matter that we pick candidates who are honest, thoughtful, hard-working, and just good people.
If you pick lazy idiots or scumbags, you're going to have a very bad time. And the signs are usually there.
Never liking Graham Platner, never falling for Graham Platner, and never letting partisanship blind me into supporting him is a proud moment for me personally.
No to Eric Swalwell
No to Ken Paxton
No to Graham Platner
No to Tony Gonzalez
No to Bob Menendez
No to Donald Trump
etc.
It's pretty easy.
If he's done something that disqualifies him from running anything from a school district to an NBA team, then he doesn't deserve your vote.
@molzer@KansasCity@KCMOMario@QuintonLucasKC I love this so much. Congratulations on all of the success you've enjoyed and looking forward to checking it all out next time I visit!!
A perk of being politically tribeless is being able to declare that Donald Trump, Ken Paxton, and Graham Platner are all personally unfit for office without having to twist myself into a pretzel trying to explain some hackish partisan double standard. Principles over party.
SGSUP had a great time in Detroit at #NPC26@APA_Planning. 🌎
We showcased our #UrbanPlanning programs, connected with planners nationwide, and loved seeing #SunDevils and #Wildcats together at our annual @AZPlanning meetup (a new tradition!).
Plus, Insoo Kim shared research on equitable disaster shelter access and planning for resilient communities.
Big thanks to our faculty, students and our MUEP online volunteer Antonio Kocoski for representing #ASU.
