At today's meeting, I offered my condolences to the family of the crew member who lost his life in the capsizing of the #PrestigeFalcon on 15 July near Oman. I commend the efforts of all the authorities involved in the search and rescue, which saved the lives of 9 seafarers.

The search and rescue operation by the Indian Navy with the Prestige Falcon is ongoing and is expected to last till 22 July . The Omani authorities have called off the SAR operation. The Indian Navy ship has not found anything except life jackets in the water so far.
