The historic Silverstone Circuit in England hosted the first ever Formula One World Championship in 1950. At this legendary venue, the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Thir. C Joseph Vijay attended the prestigious 'The Le Mans Cup - Silverstone Round' the day before yesterday as a special guest and became the first Indian to have inaugurated the event.

We made this visit on the special invitation of Tamil Nadu's legendary film-star, motorsport racer and my beloved brother Mr. Ajith Kumar.

His passion for motorsport and his vision to nurture and grow this sport in Tamil Nadu deeply impressed us all. He patiently and dedicatedly walked us through every detail and the grandeur of motorsport. Indian former Formula One racer Mr. Narain Karthikeyan was also present with us. We then held extensive discussions with leading figures from the global industrial, business, and sporting world of motorsport. Mr. J. Meghanatha Reddy, Member Secretary of the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT), also participated in this visit.

"To build world-class infrastructure as the foundation and produce sportspersons of international standards in Tamil Nadu" is the firm stance of the Tamil Nadu Government. Towards this goal, a world-class 'Motor Sports City' will soon be established in Tamil Nadu.

Alongside the Hon'ble Chief Minister, we return with new discoveries, learnings, and fresh perspectives on building a Sports Economy of international scale, with Tamil Nadu at its centre and for all of India.

This trip, led by the Hon'ble Chief Minister, will prove to be a landmark moment in the history of sports in Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu will rise to lead in sports infrastructure and sports economy, and emerge as the Sports Capital of India. We also return from this trip with several new action plans to modernise Tamil Nadu's sports sector and bring it on par with the leading nations of the world.
