@SouthwesternU prof, @Caltech + @UCSD alum, PhD. I dream of College Football, NBA, Culinary Arts, Discrete Math, Pop Culture, LVT, and John Quincy Adams
@BradenGall Any chance I could email you? I want to try doing some computer science-related research on the annual dream road trip project, and it would help me a lot to ask for a small (and I promise it's truly small) favor from you (and ideally your co-hosts)
What a loser Hochul is.
During the Championship Playoffs it was announced that Texas ranks #1 for Fortune 500 HQs. A title once held by NY.
Unlike the Knicks title, Texas’s lead over New York in business and new jobs will continue… forever.
Carbon copy of the 2011 West Finals, maybe the most competitive 5 game series of all time.
Could not be more impressed with this Knicks run. There deserve to be discussed as an all time great team because of how dominant their playoff run was.
@EvilPepeMogul@floydmarinescu I genuinely feel bad for you if you are this terrified of the world and don't see how much worse it can get with literal anarchy
@EvilPepeMogul@floydmarinescu i like living in a civilized society that enforces rules and law and order. I don't expect the people doing the enforcement to work for free.
@EvilPepeMogul@floydmarinescu It doesn't tax the buildings. You pay the same tax whether you build a skyscraper or a parking lot. The tax is only based on the value of the location.
It taxes the natural resources that people use, and it untaxes the things people actually produce
Both of these teams are championship caliber and you can see them discovering that in real time. They’re trading haymakers while maintaining the composure of a February game
If you get to a sports bar 15 minutes before the NBA finals tip off and you don’t have any trouble finding parking…not a great omen for the viewing atmosphere 😬
I just could not be more impressed with how they never stop moving and executing around their two fulcrums, and how well they seem to intuit the right balance between 5 man sets vs letting Brunson cook with help beaters
I imagine a lot of fans who wouldn’t normally watch the finals tuned in to see Knicks and/or Wemby.
And this game was a wonderful showcase for why diehards mythologize the finals.
Brunson was Isiah Thomas-esque tonight. But I think it’s just as notable that before he went out he was carving up the spurs, he was blowing by guys and getting to ask the spots he wanted. If he’s healthy the Knicks offense is a problem
