New factory nearly operational today.
All machines in. About to start
No power for the entire day 😒 havent purchased generator yet. Still waiting for machines (till today)
Turns out that the chaps from the electricity board drove past. Saw the hustle bustle of new machines and decided to cut power for the unit.
Our people go to them in the evening and they demand a bribe to enable power to the unit
This is how India industrializes 🤡
India is desperate for stable foreign capital. INR is in a virtual free fall. Yet, there is an *absurd* bottleneck nobody talks about: the RBI’s FIRMS portal — mandatory for FC-GPR filings and therefore for receiving FDI share capital — has been down for weeks.
As a result, inward remittances for legitimate equity investments into Indian companies are getting stuck because founders literally cannot complete regulatory filings.
At a moment when the country needs every dollar of productive FDI it can attract, this is exactly the kind of invisible bureaucratic friction India should not be imposing on itself.

We just received this message from a Whitefield resident.
Another young life lost to Bengaluru potholes.
Last Sunday around 1.30 AM, an Amazon employee, Ankush Mitra, died in a road accident on Channasandra Main Road near Zudio / SBR One.
According to the resident who wrote to me, the bike hit a pothole, Ankush was thrown off, hit a concrete structure on the roadside and died on the spot. The rider survived.
Ankush was an IIT Delhi and IIM Kozhikode alumnus, and had been working at Amazon in Bengaluru for the past seven years.
He lived in SS Samruddhi Apartments with his mother. She lost her husband last year. Now she has lost her only son because a pothole on a city road was not fixed.
Bengaluru roads are killing people. Families are being destroyed while authorities look away.

How many more deaths before someone takes responsibility?
A number of startups are successful but sometimes there is a special one, that has the potential to raise the bar and inspire a generation ... @_groww is one of those.
Heartiest congrats and much gratitude for the partnership @lkeshre@_harshjain26, Neeraj and @ishanishu and very proud of my partner @dvbydt who has been an amazing champion for Groww since the early days
@peakxvpartners
They prompted it. And then they built it.
Powered by @Replit, Peak XV’s CreateCamp in Dubai was a breakout hit.
A small group of builders, product managers, and company leaders with little to no coding experience joined the workshop and left with fully functional websites and scalable products.
It was incredible to watch 20 teams whip up an impressive range of products and solutions in just four hours!
These included:
- an internal workflow tool designed for a team managing product returns,
- a fintech prototype for a new payment workflow,
- a devotional app streaming spiritual content from across India,
- a networking app built for offline events,
an AI-powered personal style recommender.
Massive thanks to @amoljain_, @Jeff_Burke14 and Team @Replit for helping us show how creating and shipping software can be an intuitive process.
🚨💰 Billion-dollar outcomes on Series A bets are rare in India’s startup ecosystem.
Holding them till IPO? Even rarer.
Peak XV’s Groww bet is one of those — its stake is now worth over $1.2 billion, with 50x+ returns. Much higher after the 20% listing pop.
We spoke to Peak XV’s Ashish Agarwal on how the deal happened.

Today, @lkeshre@_harshjain26, Neeraj and @ishanishu ring the bell with @_groww, marking one of India’s most defining startup moments.
From a small team of four to millions of investors across the country, Groww has changed how #India learns, saves, and invests.
Read @dvbydt's reflection on how this partnership began and the conviction that shaped it.

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO TEAM GROWW!
What a milestone 🙌

It was a moment of immense pride, joy, and acknowledgement of the responsibility the next chapter holds. Sharing some glimpses from the #GrowwIPO ceremony @NSEIndia earlier today.🔔
Our congratulations and best wishes to the @_groww team, @lkeshre, @_harshjain26, Neeraj, and @ishanishu on this incredible milestone. 🙌

Dear @nitin_gadkari
We need a public website that shows:
> Which contractor built road
> Which babu approved it
> Total cost & ministers involved
> Firm responsible for maintenance
Contractors are becoming billionaires while people die on roads
Bring real accountability now!
The amount of total person hours wasted deleting and fixing iPhone’s incredibly annoying habit of autocorrecting I to U 😭😭😭 (is there a fix I missed along the way?)
It has come to my attention that there are certain individuals impersonating me and falsely claiming an association with Peak XV Partners (formerly Sequoia Capital India and SEA) to conduct webinars and investment programs.

"The best [entrepreneurs] we know are much more risk averse than conventional wisdom might suggest. They don't take foolish chances. They spend money as if it were their own. They observe, listen and adapt; but fundamentally, they strive to control their own destinies, which is best done by generating profits."
- Ho Nam on the best entrepreneurs (2006)
The famed Stanford Smallville is officially open-source!
25 AI agents inhabit a digital Westworld, unaware that they are living in a simulation. They go to work, gossip, organize socials, make new friends, and even fall in love. Each has unique personality and backstory.
Smallville is among the most inspiring AI agent experiments in 2023. We often talk about a single LLM's emergent abilities, but multi-agent emergence could be way more complex and fascinating at scale. A population of AI can play out the evolution of an entire civilization.
Endless new possibilities ahead. Gaming will be the first to feel the impact.
