Quick Retro! My 120 Book “reads” in 2024 & 𝐌𝐲 20 𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬: Top 15 on Non-Fiction & Top 5 on Eng/Mgmt.

Yes, that’s a big number… but, don’t be surprised by that. I count any book where I’ve made at least one Kindle highlight or note, even if I only read/re-read a snippet or didn’t finish. Finishing is optional on my books! I know, it’s not a perfect system, but I’ve been at least tracking it consistently year-over-year! Thanks to @readwise!

Big differences from 2023:

- My technical reading (Software Engineering & Management) shifted heavily to articles. I only read 8 tech books this year (3 on GenAI!).
- Many old favorites returned (e.g., 7 Habits, Turn the Ship Around!), but I’m only listing new appearances for my Top 20 in 2024.
- I dipped into some biographies and non-“non-fiction” (still not fully into fiction yet, but baby steps).
