AAU COACH: rental vans, hotel rooms, airplane flights, battle over aux cord, midnight coach meeting, rest stops, bed checks, FaceTime with fam, baggage claim convos, preparing for games, team breakfast, managing young personalities, parent meetings, etc. - it’s almost that time.

In the last 4 years, I've gone from varsity assistant, to 1st-time head varsity coach, to NCAA D-II assistant, to NCAA D-II interim head coach for 9 months, to Director of Player Development for an NCAA D-I program.

All that to preface this thread: Lesson Learned.

It doesn’t get any easier at the @RL_Hoops finale. Lost by 1 point earlier this morning. @BrunsonGavin with 17 points and @Jacobbankss1 with 16 points led the way once again. @montaivous33G had 7 huge 4th quarter points to keep us in it late. We’ll keep fighting. 1 game left.

[B.A.D. 2021 @arkiceelite2021]

@RL_Hoops @Jacobbankss1 @BrunsonGavin @31savagebray Great test of heart to get beat up on and have to get back up and throw the next punch. Love seeing how my boys respond to a little bit of adversity. We’ll see tomorrow.

[B.A.D. 2021 @arkiceelite2021]

It’s been a rough weekend for us, but we finally showed some fight in game 3 of the @RL_Hoops finale. Got beat by 10, but outscored our opponent in the 2nd half as @Jacobbankss1 and @BrunsonGavin each posted 20 points in the game. @31savagebray chipped in 7 points.

We’re in ATL for the @RL_Hoops & @OntheRadarHoops Elite 32 Showcase beginning Thursday! Really excited for another opportunity to compete with some of the best independent squads around!

Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” @DJTownsend7 knows where his strength comes from and that’s why he’s so strong. Super proud of his perseverance through adversity!

[B.A.D. 2021 @arkiceelite2021]

@BrunsonGavin had another solid showing at the @TexasHoopsGASO with 5.3 pts, 6 reb, 1.8 blk per game. This kid is a super hard worker and will continue to develop.

[B.A.D. 2021 @arkiceelite2021]

@Demarionjohns14 finished with 11.5 pts and 7.3 reb per game at the @TexasHoopsGASO! Carried the team on his shoulders game 3 with 24 pts, 18 of which were in the 2nd half. He attacks the rim strong and crashes the offensive glass with force.
