Another great question: the Montreal-Toronto corridor is served perfectly fine by flights (1h) and roads, and spending $100B to replace a working system with a slightly different system might not be the best use of constrained fiscal resources.

@cultmtl Even a bad clock is correct twice a day. For PP, this is one of those. HSR will be unaffordable and those that will do the daily MTL - Toronto commute frequently will fly anyways. The project is not opening new opportunities. Another VIA rail situation, empty and unprofitable
