After spending a few days in a peaceful little town on the outskirts of LA, & suddenly SJ no longer feels like home because there’s no peace here, nothing but utter chaos & trying to survive being outside
Keep your problems smaller than your life. A flat tire is a flat tire. A bad meeting is a bad meeting. A canceled flight is just an extra two hours. These things become catastrophes when you let them. But they stay manageable when you remember the depth of your real life- the people you love, the work you care about, the beautiful years still ahead. Zoom out. Fit your reaction to the size of the problem.
People respect you more when they don't see you often. Even parents. Trust me. It's strange how distance rearranges love, how absence restores what closeness erodes. When people are deprived of your presence, they start seeing you clearly again, not through habit but through awareness. Proximity dulls perception. Space sharpens it. That's just how the human mind works.
Got some pho alone for the 2nd time this week & had the most wonderful funny chat w someone who knows my family from back in the days, & man does everyone know how crazy my mom was back then, then his partner telling me about the classes they teach, think i might look into judo
notes from eileen gu:
• you can do anything you put your mind to
• be impossible to categorize. most people spend their lives trying to fit into one box. you must break that box.
• one exceptional skill can become the distribution channel for five others
• don’t spend your whole life competing in someone else’s game. build a career so unique there isn’t really anyone to compare you to.
• your multitudes are your unfair advantage
• ambition can be feminine
• play long games
• be remembered for expanding what’s possible
what an icon truly
This is why gratitude becomes so so important.
The more grateful you are for what you have in your life, the more the universe will give you to be grateful for!!
this is why you have to have strong spiritual protection when you’re a beautiful and radiant woman who is confident and not afraid to shine your light. seriously.
People argue over who the villain is and completely miss the point. The real tragedy is that every attempt to force love destroys the very thing that makes love meaningful: choice.
My therapist asked me what I would do with my time if no one needed anything from me for a full week.
I said I had no idea.
She asked if that felt like freedom or like panic.
Panic, I said, immediately.
She said, when empty time feels like a threat, it means your identity is entirely built on being needed. And that is a fragile thing to build a life on.
I drove home and looked at my diary and noticed how little of it was actually mine.
In case you weren't raised correctly, it is a man's job to set the tone in a relationship, Whether people want to admit it or not, woman feeds off his energy.. his consistency, his intentions, his presence. She takes what he gives and reflects it. When a man leads with clarity, love, and respect, it creates a space where a woman can feel safe, soft, and secure. Vice versa, when he leads with confusion, mixed signals, and inconsistency, it forces her to operate in survival mode. She becomes guarded, unsure, and emotionally exhausted.
The quickest way to “get your spark back” is to literally light yourself on fire. You’ve got to burn baby. You’re depressed bc you’re not being insane enough. Double. Down. The world does not reward half ass. All in or out. You’re thinking too small. You’ve accepted your current reality as the only reality. Bullshit. You need to write a list of the most insane asks you could ever dream of. “I am a NYT best selling author. I am the founder of a Fortune 500 company. I paint for a living and I make a damn good living.” Ask and you shall receive. Embody and you become. Flip the fucking script. Your current ceiling is now the floor. Level up.
You need to burn.
You need boredom. A lot of it. Start by going on walks without music. No stimulation. No distractions of any kind. If you learn to sit with your own thoughts, for long enough, in time they will start serving you. You'll start having ideas once again. You'll start developing an extreme sense of clarity that will shift you into the next stage of your life. All by being bored, which is pretty insane.
