Here you can see the workshop at Loughborough university where there are quite a few #ArmTouch upgraded machines.
They have been gradually working through their large number of these older Arm machines and now only have a few left to upgrade to the new ArmTouch #looms.
The Winchester School of Art has just had its next intake of textile students so we hope this service exercise will provide sweet running looms that ‘do the business’ for these new starters.

All of the looms at Winchester School of Art showed the care that had been taken with them over the years and upgrading these looms to the latest Touch control system is now an easy step forward for the School to take in the future.

Recently we headed off to Winchester School of Art to meet up with Textile Technician Claire McKinley. We carried out a service to all 10 Arm looms in their weave workshop. Here we are looking at each individual shaft.

Each eyelet has to go on the shaft the same way , here you can see them all lying nicely next to each other , if one is laid the wrong way, when you pull your warp through the eyelets, the eyelets will snag on each other and you won’t have a smooth warp

Did you know we hand make every single loom cord here in the UK?
We also make spares packs so if you have a broken or loose cord and need some fresh ones, just pop us a message

Here is @heriotwattuni loom ready to go.
The software is already built in to the ARM Touch 60 so nothing else extra is needed.
If you would like to use your Dobby Weave CAD software programs you still can :) These include ScotWeave Dobby Designer, WeavePoint, DB Weave and more
