Politicians in Japan discussed a proposal to build a large-scale Islamic qabristan yesterday.

Mizuho Umemura of the House of Councillors Party opposed it, saying

- Japan does not need more cemeteries than they are now since cremation is the norm

- residents are opposing burials citing groundwater and agricultural water damage so why not use the opportunity to ban burials totally

- if Muslim immigrants die in Japan, they can either be cremated as per Japan’s culture or have their body transported internationally at their own expense for burial in their home country

- Finally - "If you are not considerate of the distant future, you will surely be troubled by the near future”

🚨‼️When a man says he’s not sure he’s going to Heaven, that ought to stop every Christian dead in their tracks. That’s not a political statement — that’s a spiritual one. You don’t hedge on eternity. You either know you’re saved, or you’re still lost. Paul didn’t say, “I hope I’m persuaded.” He said, “I know whom I have believed.” (2 Timothy 1:12). That’s assurance. That’s salvation. When a man who leads a nation can’t say that with confidence, it tells you something about the state of the nation itself.

And yet the pews are full of folks who’ll defend a politician faster than they’ll defend the gospel. They’ll quote campaign slogans but can’t quote John 3:16. Sure, we’re told to pray for our leaders — and I do, daily. I pray for his salvation, I pray for mercy on our country, and I pray for revival. But don’t confuse political loyalty with spiritual faithfulness. You can’t ride to Heaven on the back of a president, a preacher, or a party. The cross doesn’t have a party line.

America doesn’t need another election — it needs repentance. Quit following flags and start following the Lamb. No man, no movement, no political machine will save this sinking world. Jesus Christ is the only One who can. So while the world argues over who’ll sit in the White House, I’m more concerned with who’s seated at the right hand of the Father. That’s my King.
