The diplomatic mission of 🇦🇲 in #Syria (Damascus) has resumed its activities. The consular section of the Embassy has returned to its normal regime. Appointments for citizens of Armenia have already been organized today.

The Consulate General of Armenia in #Aleppo shall also resume its activities, about which additional information will be provided.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of #Armenia is following the developments in Syria.

The diplomatic staff of Armenia’s Embassy in Damascus & the Consul General in Aleppo are currently continuing their work from Beirut.

⤵️ The two previously provided hotlines remain operational (Consulate General: [phone], Embassy in Beirut: [phone]).

📩 In case of connection problems, it is possible to reach the Embassy in Beirut by email at [email protected], which also ensures the fastest response possible. @armembleb

Over the past four days, the questions received through the hotlines were primarily related to the necessary documents, mainly issuance of entry visas to Armenia. In all such cases, the Embassy provided the required support, including issuing visas free of charge to Armenians arriving from Syria.

Additional updates regarding new decisions based on further developments will be provided as necessary.

2/2: In light of this, a decision was made to temporarily suspend the team’s operations in #Aleppo.

On Nov 29, late evening,the entire team of the humanitarian demining & medical team has returned to #Armenia on board the military transportation aircraft of the RA MoD.

1/2:In recent days,the operational situation in several regions of #Syria has significantly deteriorated,leading to the onset of active military ops.This has made it impossible for the🇦🇲 humanitarian demining & medical team, operating in Aleppo since 2019,to continue its mission.

STATEMENT: A year ago, on September 19, as a result of the military attack by #Azerbaijan, the entire indigenous population of #NagornoKarabakh, more than 115,000 #Armenians had to leave their homes within few days. This displacement, which was the last stage of the ethnic cleansing policy, took place during the #UNGA session, when the entire int’l community had once again gathered to discuss the imperative of peaceful settlement of conflicts, establishment of stability, & development, condemning the use of force, violation of int’l norms & human rights in different parts of the world.

During the past year, the Government of Armenia🇦🇲 took necessary steps, including with the help of int’l partners, to address the primary & medium-term needs of displaced Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as to develop necessary programs in the long term.

The high-level discussions of the UN General Assembly will start again next week in New York: the events of the past year demonstrate the importance of urgent efforts to ensure int’l stability, realization of ideas & steps that would enable the establishment of peace. (…) ⤵️
