The public reaction when prime minister of Kosova @albinkurti dismisses 🇷🇸 stance that Kosova is not a country and cannot join the EU
In 1999, during the Kosovo War, Mustafa Xaja, an Albanian man, desperately searched for his two missing sons. His family, including the sons, got separated during the conflict, which involved the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) and the Kosovo Liberation Army. The war, marked by ethnic tensions and struggles for identity and independence, led to numerous casualties and families torn apart. After the war, Mustafa Xaja was fortunate enough to reunite with his family, except for his two sons, whom he continued to seek with deep anguish in his eyes.
Chris McCandless, an adventurous American, left a lasting impression on us all. Jon Krakauer documented his remarkable journey in the book "Into the Wild," which later became a film adaptation. Born on February 12, 1968, in El Segundo, California, McCandless grew up in a comfortable middle-class family and had a promising future ahead of him.
In 1990, after completing his studies at Emory University, McCandless set out on a quest for self-discovery. He relinquished his possessions, donated his savings to charity, and severed ties with his family, adopting the pseudonym "Alexander Supertramp." Inspired by the writings of Jack London and Henry David Thoreau, McCandless aspired to find solace and simplicity, unburdened by societal constraints.
In 1992, McCandless hitchhiked to Alaska, where he immersed himself in the wilds of Denali National Park. He survived for several months, relying on his survival skills to forage for food and even hunt small game. However, his seclusion and lack of preparedness eventually led to his tragic demise. McCandless's lifeless body was discovered in an abandoned bus along the Stampede Trail in August 1992. He had succumbed to starvation.
McCandless's tale captured significant attention due to his idealistic pursuit of a life disconnected from modern society and the tragic fate he encountered. "Into the Wild" delves into his motivations, chronicles his experiences on his odyssey, and explores the impact he had on the individuals he encountered along the way.
While some admire McCandless as a brave and free-spirited individual who dared to follow his dreams, others criticize him for his reckless behavior and disregard for safety. His story has ignited debates and prompted introspection on the nature of adventure, self-discovery, and the boundaries of societal norms.
Today we mark 28 years since the #Srebrenica genocide in which 8372 Bosniak civilians were brutally murdered. They were killed after Serb forces attacked the UN "safe area" of Srebrenica in July 1995.

Talking of Kosovo PM refusing to meet the visiting Albanian PM in Prishtina, the old traditions may have a say. Kanun, the old Albanian traditional customary law is specific about hosting guests: “If a guest comes, even if he’s in a blood feud with you, you shall say ‘welcome’.”
