Donald Trump recalls meeting the President of Egypt:
โHe was in a hotel, and I met him, and we fell in love, deeply in love. He didnโt even wanna meet Hillary [Clinton], he said โyouโre going to winโโฆ We had great chemistry, and I stayed twice as long as I was supposed toโ
I've been saying this all the time. I only worked as a student under a J-1 visa but seeing all the Americans around me and what they have to deal with made me realize that the US is only great for the rich and the tourists.
Maybe this is a hot take but as someone who lived in the US for 4 years before moving home to Norway, I think the US is a great country to visit, not to live in. You get all the benefits of how grand the experiences are in culture, weather, nature, food, sports etc but you donโt have to worry about healthcare, overpaid housing, taxes that fund wars instead of your well-being and a lacking infrastructure. I understand itโs a big country and I only lived in Los Angeles (which is worse than most other American cities) but you only need one small medical issue to realize how messed up the system is. Also Trump.
seriously considering sacrificing my mental health for the next 2-3 years and moving back home so I can save up enough money for a downpayment and get my own apartment
it also makes me feel insane because none of you seem to think itโs policing womenโs bodies when you call them fat or tell them to lose weight.
but when someone is visibly underweight and malnourished, thatโs when everyone needs to mind their business?
I can't fucking believe it, they absolutely destroyed Duolingo with this new "Energy" system instead of hearts. The free version is basically unusable.
