Omega Seamaster cal. 562... c. 1966. The golden era of Omega production. By 1970 production quality started to decline in an attempt to compete against cheaper quartz watches. It wouldn't really recover until the early 2000s when a new market in mechanical watches emerged.

Omega Seamaster 300 in for a service (WatchCo build). Based on the original 165.024 of the 1960s, it's a controversial watch, due to the way it was constructed and sold unofficially from Omega genuine parts supply. Full service done for the calibre 552.

@JenBartram Hi - the movement is a Miyota GL12 which can still be sourced. The difficult task is sourcing a back to fit this exact model but sounds like you've found one. Please contact us if you need any assistance with a repair.

That's the last two watch services of the year done. Omega 18K cal. 501 and Tag Heuer 2000 cal 5 auto. Thanks to everyone that sent their watches in for servicing or repair this year. We are back on the 2nd January.

Don't see many of these anymore. Omega Chronostop 'Driver' Edition, with its 90 deg oriented dial. Just serviced and ready to return to its owner.

Service on the Certina DS2 done. The movement is protected for shock by this very unusual yellow rubber ring. I've never seen this method used on any other watch.

Every day is a school day in watch repair. Certina cal. 25-651 date change. There's a tiny dot on the date jumper that the date corrector spring must point to. Get this wrong and you sheer the spring off, when the date advances.

Quartz watches need servicing too, especially if they've only had battery changes for the last 20 years or so. These 4 have had a full strip down service of the movement, new batteries and case and bracelet clean, for one of our regular clients.

We recently did this case back restoration on a 60s Seamaster. It looked a lot better without the scratches and gouge marks.
