sooo a maple army saw my tweet abt not being able to afford a d1 ticket… and they sent me one. i don’t know what to say, i just cried for ages. i feel so unworthy i don’t know what i did to deserve this but i’m so SO grateful truly 😭😭😭😭 apobangpo 😭😭😭💜💜💜💜💜
Something I need y'all to understand is BTS love each other more than ANYONE. That includes ARMY. They are blood and each have 1/7th of the soul they all share. Their bond is that serious and they would tear it all down before they ever let harm come to even one of them.
Being on ARMY twt is like being dropped into a war zone every monday with no briefing. New topic, new villain, new misinformation packet, same seven men somehow in the center.
I've been largely out of this conversation for the past few days, but one thing has become increasingly clear to me.
I genuinely don't know what Namjoon or Hobi could say, or when they could have said it, that wouldn't have resulted in another wave of criticism.
Had they spoken immediately, it could have been dismissed as a rushed PR response or damage control.
A couple of days later? They only spoke because they were pressured into it.
A week later? Too little, too late. Why did it take them so long?
And the same lose-lose situation applies to what they might actually say.
There may be words that would appease some people. There may be an apology or explanation that some would consider meaningful and sincere. But those exact same words would almost certainly produce a loud outcry from others.
If the wording is careful: HYBE or PR wrote it.
If it's informal: they aren't taking the issue seriously enough.
If they apologise without explaining: empty words.
If they explain: they're making excuses.
If they say they didn't know the full history: some will insist that's impossible.
If they acknowledge that they did know something: then why did they go?
If they say nothing: their silence will be interpreted for them.
None of this means people don’t want a statement, or that they can’t think critically about anything the members chose to say.
But there is a difference between wanting someone to address something and creating a situation in which no timing, wording or explanation can possibly be accepted.
And that's increasingly what this looks like to me.
There is no single statement that will satisfy everyone. Something that reassures one person may anger another. Something one person considers sincere will be dismissed as calculated by someone else.
At some point, we also have to recognise when people have been placed in a position where speaking and remaining silent both carry their own punishment.
Sometimes there simply isn't a response that can make everyone happy — and demanding one as though such a response exists doesn't change that.
