I was sorely wrong thinking this would be the first bill to pass after a legislative staffer made national news preying on teenage girls. As an adoptive mom who brought her teenage girls to the Capitol building while I staffed, I’m beyond disgusted.

Big thank you to the Anchorage Assembly for unanimously passing a resolution in support of my bill HB 101 that raises the age of consent in Alaska to 18 which will protect our young people from predators. I hope the bill will move quickly to the Senate floor. #akleg

The rest are disabled, elderly or unpaid caregivers.

An Alaska village is collapsing in oceans due to climate change but retains residents — Alaska officials forgot to set up voting there.

This woman flew there on a small plane last minute to set up a vote-by-fax process. Here she is radioing the village to bring their ballots.
