shout out to the cardiologist who denied my sister’s immunotherapy regime for cancer, as if they had any qualifications or knowledge to make that sort of determination. idk how these ghouls sleep at night
@nebulia ok but the way ppl younger than me still use snapchat is cuckoo. i deleted that app in like 2019. why does it have such a stronghold on the youth
@quilssachent it’s impossible to have a neat metric. how do we measure when people die of complications as a result of long covid? how do we measure when they die from heart problems or cancer developments that may have resulted from past covid infections?
this is such a disturbing tweet. why do ppl like this feel comfortable saying “give it a rest, nothing will change” about covid when they would never say the same about any other social rights movement?
disability activism truly is the foundational metric of a person’s morals.
I get people’s frustrations about it but at the same time…give it a rest? It’s not changing. We are where we are. People are not masking b/c there are no mandates to mask. Lockdowns will not happen again. People think it’s just a cold/flu type of illness b/c of lack of education
Fucking fuck I’m so goddamn tired of this. People who wear respirators are not “covid dead-enders”, or “forever covid”, or whatever the fuck else handles you spew out. WE are the ones breaking chains of transmission, covid persists because of YOU not taking airborne precautions.
lrt my sister lost friends after their cancer diagnosis. that’s just how it goes. it is the established norm for ppl across the political spectrum to abandon disabled people in need.
Someone whose attitude is “i’m not going to stop going on trips and eating out at restaurants forever” is is not someone mentally prepared in the slightest for what’s to come in the next months and years, and that’s what it really boils down to I think.
my sister has cancer. catching covid or walking pneumonia or even the flu would wreak havoc on their body and interfere with their treatment. and yet, they cannot safely go to the fucking hospital! just the simple act of receiving care poses such a risk. god
the thing that has radicalized me most quickly & abruptly is the lack of masking in oncology wards. no one, from patients to nurses to hospital staff to doctors, absolutely no one is wearing them. it is frightening, and it is infuriating.
I think tim walz is genuinely a really good example of the banality of evil like yeah he's grandpa and truly seems like a funny nice personable individual and has no major closet skeletons but he's also not above endorsing police brutality and israel. theres lots of guys like him
I say this a lot, I'll say it again. A gun is not a talisman. It is a perishable skill set, a level of commitment that more or less is practically a lifestyle. Guns may not be for you and that's okay. If you're serious, take a sobering inventory of your bandwidth for this.
Unfortunately, voting locations have been made unsafe, inaccessible, and outright hostile to people who are at high risk for covid.
If you showed up maskless to the polls, you participated in voter suppression.
When’s a good time for people to be ready for this conversation?
don't donate to anymore politicians. or the women's march. donate to local mask blocs. donate to local mutual aid orgs. donate to abortion funds. the dems raised $1 billion for this campaign & it's all gone now. put your $ where it's truly needed.
if you are someone who was able to overlook the genocide and cast a vote for kamala harris, then you already understand how a conservative was able to overlook Trump's extremism to vote for him.
