It is an honour to stand today at the 𝗘𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗢𝗣𝗜𝗔 𝗗𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦 national summit held under the theme "From Reform to Lasting Change," I reflected on the journey that has brought us to this moment, a nation that has continuously risen, built the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam with its own hands. These are not chances. They are the results of deliberate choices, anchored in the spirit of Medemer, the conviction that lasting change is built through coming together.
Our reforms are not an end in themselves; they are the foundation we lay for the generations that will come after us. For nation building is a collective work that does not conclude with any single generation, and with that conviction, I call on every Ethiopian to carry this spirit forward, to receive what we have built, and to rise higher still!
History lesson:
There was no place called "Eritrea" anywhere in #Africa before 1891.
#Italy changed the region's name to Eritrea during its colonization attempt.
A colonial creation, not an ancient civilization. 🇪🇷

🚨HISTORY REWRITTEN ONCE AGAIN. 👑
🇪🇹 Tigst Assefa defends her crown at the London Marathon and pushes the limits of human performance even further.
2:15:41 a new women’s-only marathon world record.
She beats her own record set here last year by another 9 seconds. 🤯
We have arrived in the beautiful and resource-rich Benishangul-Gumuz Region the land of the late patriotic hero Sheikh Hojale where the soil yields development when tilled and gold when mined, and where harmony is a lived reality.
This region is the home of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, a powerful symbol of our unity and a cornerstone of our renewable future, as well as a vital engine of national development.
We were warmly received with rich cultural hospitality and the melodies of the Zumbara. I extend my sincere gratitude to the Regional President, his Cabinet, community leaders, elders, and the people of Assosa for their gracious welcome.
During our visit, we will engage with key development projects across the region.
