Through the storms of life, O God,
you are with your people
in the person of Jesus your Son.
Calm our fears and strengthen our faith
that we may never doubt his presence among us
but proclaim that he is your Son,
risen from the dead,
living for ever and ever. Amen.

O God, on this day you open the hearts of your
faithful people by sending into us your Holy Spirit.
Direct us by the light of that Spirit,
that we may have a right judgment in all things
and rejoice at all times in your peace,
through Jesus Christ, your Son and our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and forever. Amen.

Strengthening our shared witness
This week, we welcomed colleagues from the Service and Justice team of Evangelical Lutheran Church in America to the LWF Communion Office. Our discussions reaffirmed a deep commitment to collaboration and a shared vision for a thriving global Lutheran communion.
“This working meeting was a strong affirmation of a long-lasting partnership. As a member of of the LWF, we take seriously the shared calling for holistic mission, which means empowering churches to serve and lead in their diverse contexts and witnessing through a shared commitment to justice and peace,” said Khader El-Yatem, ELCA Executive Director for Service and Justice.
“Our joint work is a good expression of what it means to be Lutheran today—a communion that stands together, locally and globally, in faith, service, and hope,” said LWF General Secretary Anne Burghardt.
